Who are you, and where do you belong? Everyone has a name, and a place to belong. These answers aren’t always simple, and in some situations complicated. In general everyone can answer this. Everyone has a surname, a family name. Within a family, everyone has a role and place to belong. Each member has a title; mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother, and the list can go on. Apart from a family, you could belong to an organisation, or a club. The Church (in a global sense) is also a family. We are all children of God. To define it even more, Bray Park Community Church is a family.
Here at BPCC there are various places where you can belong. I may be biased, but the Creative Team is one great place to belong to. Here you will find like-minded people, who encourage and care for one-another. This is just one area where you can belong. Another area where you can belong is a Growth Group. Yes, I know there are some of you out there who are cringing in your seats.
“I’m too busy to join a Growth Group.” “We can’t go out at night because our kids have school in the morning.” These are two common, and sometimes valid, reasons people use for not joining a Growth Group. However, I don’t believe these reasons should stop people from joining. We all have time to sit down and eat dinner together, as a family. Why not sit down and discuss the Bible while you share a meal with your growth group? We all have the same amount of time in our day, it just depends how you effectively use your time.
Let me challenge you today as you read this to think about just where you belong here at BPCC. Maybe it’s time for you to sign up for a service team, or even join a growth group. Always remember, there is a place here for you to belong.
