2017 has started! Many of our church family have been able to enjoy holidays, and families are getting ready for the new school year. Ministries are also gearing up to start.
WANTED: An urgent request has been made from one of our members for blankets, sheets, towels, clothes, footwear, toiletries, kitchen items, to be sent to an orphanage in Liberia, housing 300 orphans due to the Ebola outbreak in recent years.
A container is being packed and sent to Liberia next week – so we only have coming Sunday 15 & Monday 16 to collect these goods. Please drop them off at the church (office or church hall).
BIBLE READING: If you were in church last Sunday, you heard my invitation for us as a church to be more intentional about being Christian difference-makers (witnesses for Jesus) in 2017. I’ve been touched by the positive comments and agreement many of you have made to join me in this challenge. To help us do this, I want to share with you a helpful article I came across about Bible reading from the Hope, Life and Truth website; Where To Start Reading The Bible. It is vital for us who want to be effective witnesses for Jesus, to feed daily from his word.
Sunday 22nd February: We are planning to share with you our ministry plans for 2017. As well, we will interview our new Youth Pastor to hear of the developments happening within our youth ministry. I am excited about the new year ahead of us.
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. (Mt.22:36-37)
