On the Jesus Mission Together

God didn't intend for us to do life alone. In fact, God himself experiences community in the Godhead. Community and togetherness are not only essential to a happy and whole life but they are essential to a vibrant and productive faith.

There are four social contexts in which humans have always operated; Intimate context (2’s & 3’s), Personal context (10-12), Social context (20-70) and Public context (70plus). We are hardwired to seek and desire community, an extended family. The BPCC family operates in all four of these social contexts. The public context happens on a Sunday, the social, personal and intimate context happens under the umbrella of Life Groups, our discipleship pathway.

Let me explain further.

Wednesday Ministry Night combines both the social and personal context. Wednesday night exists to connect with others, build a strong Christian foundation and to catalyse spiritual growth. Start 7pm social time coffee and chat 7:30 courses start we break into groups and finish times will be between 8:30 and 9pm. Childcare will be available. If you intend to do one of our courses this term please register at the connection centre or call the office

We have home groups, women and men’s groups meeting weekly or fortnightly that can grow up to 10 to 12 people sharing, studying, supporting and serving together. Some home groups are sermon based, term 1 God Quest sermon series, all groups look to apply the word in their daily lives. If you want to join a home, women or men’s group please register at the connection centre or call the office.

We have discipleship groups of 2 to 3 which come together organically and intentionally through friendships at work, play and church. These are so flexible that you can come together any time and any place. This intimate context creates the optimum setting for making disciples. Please talk to me for resources and any questions you might have.

Matthew 28:19-20 - 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The mission Jesus gave us was not just meant to inspire us, nor was it intended to frustrate us. Jesus gave us this mission because he wants us to actually do it! Within each person lies a potential movement that could change the world. The beginning of such a movement is simple: you living a life as a Christ follower that is worth reproducing. You will reproduce what you say. You will reproduce what you do. You will reproduce what you don't do. You will reproduce who you are. Each of us has the ability to catalyse a movement that can accomplish the mission of Jesus. Some of us have the ability to impact 10 people; some of us have influence over hundreds, while others have the potential to reach thousands. (Exponential, David Ferguson)

Are you being equipped? Are you impacting others? Are you on the mission Jesus gave us?
